5 Pilates moves to Keep Runners Moving People who love to run, just love to run!
But it is beneficial to incorporate some Pilates to keep you running well.
Here are five Pilates exercises to help keep you doing what you love.
The Core, or Powerhouse, is the energetic centre of your body: it is the area from the bottom of the ribcage to a line across the hip joints in the front to the base of the buttocks in the back - incorporating abdominals, pelvic floor, lower back muscles, & the muscles surrounding the hip joint It is the king of all Pilates terms, integrating all that core strength that Pilates is famous for.
If the powerhouse is being used appropriately, the limbs should be able to move in a more co-ordinated manner.
Imprinting may be the most basic Pilates exercise there is. Yet it can be one of the most profound. Imprinting is the perfect way to get centered before you begin your Pilates workout or any other form of exercise. Imprinting helps you lengthen & relax your spine, & settle into your body.
This simple exercise can be used anytime for stress reduction & quick rejuvenation
Pamela McCarthy has been an inspiration to me. She let me practice my Pilates teaching skills on her while I was training, & was always enthusiastic about me getting this Pilates Studio up & running, so much so that she features in the Testimonials on this website. I am very fortunate to have known her. The official STOTT PILATES Training Centre is in Pukekohe, Auckalnd, where Sharron Currie is the Fantastic Instructor Trainer. She is amazing & has a mind full of up to date knowledge. It is always great to get her feedback on our form as instructors, so we can provide a really professional experience to our clients.( See Pic of Sharron & I)
